Economic Development Authority
Responsibilities
The Economic Development Authority (EDA) reviews major development proposals, capital improvements, and makes recommendations about the impact of various proposals to the City Council. The EDA works closely with the City Council on all business and marketing-related matters.
The Economic Development Authority (EDA) consists of seven members who each serve a four-year term and are appointed by the City Council. Residency and land ownership is required to serve on the commission.
Meetings - All meetings are open to the public.

Loan Program
The Lake Crystal Economic Development Authority has launched a Construction Mitigation Microloan Program to support businesses affected by the Highway 60 Reconstruction Project. Eligible businesses on or adjacent to the highway or located in downtown Lake Crystal can apply for up to $1,500 to help cover expenses like signage, marketing, repairs, equipment, and utilities. Loans feature a low interest rate (capped at 4%) and require no payments until the project ends or October 31, 2025.
Applications must include financial documentation, and funds will be distributed on a reimbursement basis.
