Registration, Absentee Voting & Voting Early in Person
Blue Earth County Elections Office
Visit the Blue Earth County website to complete a voter registration application form. Registration applications are also available at the following locations:
- Blue Earth County Elections Office in the Historic Courthouse - 204 S 5th St - 1st Floor, Mankato MN 56001
- Blue Earth County License Center - When you apply for or renew your driver's license
- Minnesota Secretary of State's Office
Absentee Ballot Applications and additional information can be found on the Secretary of State's website at MNVotes.org. Please do NOT bring absentee ballots to City Hall or drop them in the “utility payment drop-box” as they will be REJECTED due to MN Election Laws. Follow the instructions provided in the mailing.
In-Person early voting is available during the following times:
- During normal office hours (8:00 am to 4:30 pm) beginning 46 days before the election
- The Saturday before the election from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
- The Monday before the election until 5:00 pm
All Blue Earth County voters may also vote early in person at these two locations:
- Blue Earth County Historic Courthouse - 204 S 5th Street in Mankato

Polling Location
The City of Lake Crystal has one polling location at the Lake Crystal Area Recreation Center. If you recently registered, you will receive a postcard that inform you of your polling location. Use the Polling Place Finder to locate your precinct and find directions to the polling location. Be sure to register early to avoid long lines at the polls.
