Dog & Cat License

 

All dogs and cats in the City of Lake Crystal, older than 6 months of age, must be licensed with the City of Lake Crystal. A copy of the rabies vaccination certificate from a licensed veterinarian must be presented, along with the application. 

If an individual or family owns more than three (3) dogs or more than five (5) cats and they do not breed, board, buy or sell those animals, then the individual or family may apply to the City for a Special Dog & Cat Ownership Permit.

 

Permit Fee: $5.00

Expiration: 1 year from date of issuance

Chicken Permit Application

 

Chickens are allowed on any lot with a single-family residence with required approval from adjacent property owners. A permit may only allow between one (1) and four (4) chickens. Leg banding of all chickens is required and used to identify chicken owners.

Application Fee: $75.00

Permit Expiration: 3 years from date of issuance
